Put simply, staging means preparing the home for a potential buyer- or "setting the stage", if you will. Home staging can be understood more broadly as a series of techniques to prepare a home to make it more attractive to potential buyers or tenants. It involves redecorating, rearranging furniture, cleaning and other aesthetic strategies to present your home in the best possible light. The term home stager is interchangeable with interior decorator or interior stylist. Home Staging has been common practice in the US for many years and has now also starting to appear in Spain.

The ultimate goal of the home stager is the quick and profitable sale of the property. Staging it to the taste of potential buyers. With the goal to peak to a wider audience based on the target market for the home. The stager will highlight the homes best features - inside and out.
Interior styling in contrast, is client specific. The interior decorator styles the home to the owners taste & personality and incorporates specific functional and lifestyle needs in order to create a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing living space that suits the particular needs of the homeowner.

PETRA VAN RAAIJ
Born in Holland she attended the Academy of Fine Arts to train and qualify as a Stylist in 1991.
After her study she has worked on world wide assignments as a fashion photographer for almost 2 decades.
In 2022 she decided to move to Mallorca, where she met her life partner Emiel Joosten. Together they developed the vision for Joosten Real Estate.
With her background in styling and expertise as photographer she now provides interior styling and staging services for JRE.
